The very essence of business in the modern world is largely dependent on technology. Out of such dependencies, an online presence and the ability to do online transactions top the list while making it possible for the business to grow. This is where 3rd party credit card processing comes in.

The success story of any business depends on how feasible it is for users to reach them and of course on the quality of services provided. But the former aspect of being easily reachable as well as being able to carry out online transactions rather than having to walk in and out of offices in person makes a huge difference in business. So with 3rd party credit card processing all these potentials can be achieved quite easily.

The underlying story is that if you are a small business owner, it may come has an extra burden; and perhaps an expensive one at that if you are asked to maintain a credit card processing gateway on your website. Therefore, as an alternative, 3rd party credit card processing has been introduced through service providers such as clickbank that facilitate the credit card processing requirement of your business phase, on behalf of you. of course, these services comes with a little price tag attached, but if you can attract customers by heaps and bounds using this method, and if the latter would mean that your business prospects start mushrooming day by day, then I suppose a little investment wouldn’t matter.

3rd party credit card processing service providers are usually flexible with their routines. Therefore, as a small business owner or a startup company, you will have some breathing space. The service could be set up as such that 3rd party credit card processing service providers charge you only a percentage off your profit on the product. While this is good news for a small company while you introduce a product to the market, trouble will sleek through if your product incase becomes popular and makes a humongous profit.

Some 3rd party credit card processing service providers offer their services free of charge but the down side of the story would be that they will ask you to commit for a time period in which you will be bound by them to use their 3rd party credit card processing services.

Keeping aside the minuses, another plus of 3rd party credit card processing would be that you need not worry about your customers information privacy and security as the 3rd party credit card processing service provider will look in to all that on behalf of you!

Just recently, I realised to my horror that I had maxed out my credit cards from one bank. Some insurance payments, income tax, road tax, and other big expenditures totally maxed out my account. I should have realised this when one of my big expenses did not get through and I had to use another credit card from another bank. So, when I wanted to pay off my bill so that I could continue to use my credit cards to earn points, I had to wait for a few days before the money was debited into my account.

Having said that, two friends immediately told me their horror stories about their credit cards. Young people under the age of 30 were the likeliest to rack up huge credit card bills. One lady owed the bank a lot of money because after changing her job, her salary fell dramatically and she continued to charge huge expenses to her card.

One friend decided to shred her credit cards and stay away from them. I thought this was a little drastic, since credit cards can be useful. At the same time, when you want to get loans in the future, having credit cards means they have a longer credit history of yours and it will be easier to get a loan, especially for cars or houses.

Another decided to lower the credit limit to avoid overspending. The bank will do this for you immediately once you call them. You can let them know you want to set the limit lower. Usually, the limit is two times your monthly salary, but if you are spending that amount every month, it’s a little tough to wait until your bonuses come in before you can clear the bills. Remember, rolling over your bills is a very bad idea, even if banks love you for that. The interest rates are extremely high.

Some of my cards have low credit limits because I did not submit my new payslips to them to ask for a credit increase. However, having low credit limits means you cannot spend that much. Everything can be considered important. You can find an excuse for getting that new computer, or that new range of cosmetics. By limiting yourself, you are forced to rein in your spending.

If you have supplementary cards, you can also set the limit. This is good if you do not want your children, spouse or relative to go overboard with spending.

Despite this, you should still keep an eye on your expenditure and increase the income streams. By the way, I’ve cleared my credit card bills and I get to use my credit cards again.

Credit card statements that arrive in our mailbox every month may be read and chucked aside. We would then proceed to write a cheque or do internet banking to pay the bills. Have you ever stopped to check through every item that appears on the monthly statement account for your credit cards?

I just received one today, and I was puzzled by two items. One showed Melbourne Australia, and I had not been there ever since I finished my studies, and I did not do any online purchases. After thinking for a while, I think I remembered that it was for my fitness run in June. The company that charged me was probably an Australian firm, though it was quite surprising.

Another one that puzzled me consisted only of a few letters and many numbers. I had just read an article or heard on BBC that states that credit card fraud takes place every 8 seconds or some other statistics. One woman noticed a charge from India on her credit card statement, so she called the bank up. The first thought she had was that the card was physically stolen. The second thing she did was to call the bank up. It turned out that she was a victim of online credit card fraud. The charge was reversed. This means the merchant who was cheated would have to absorb the loss. They will then pass the costs to the consumer. So consumers are the ones who lose out.

Coming back to my situation, I really could not think of what I had spent on. I decide to call the bank up and had to wait for 15 minutes before they answered my call. After verifying my information, they told me that it was from some government organisation. I told the call operator that I would probably recall it.

True enough, I remembered that I had used my credit card for a donation to one of my favourite charities, the SPCA. It was for tax deduction purposes. With a sigh of relief, I put the statement away. I had also used my credit card to maximise my points.

Sometimes, it does pay to check through receipts as well. I could never understand why my father would scrutinise every item on the grocery bills. Once, he was very upset that they over charged him for a $2.50 item, probably some clothes hangers. He only bought one set, but they charged him two sets. He drove all the way back, probably wasting more money in petrol and parking, just to get that sum back. Well, I had the habit of not checking, but recently, I checked my bill for books, and they charged me the price of two items instead of one. Thankfully, they confirmed that they double charged me, and refunded the money to me. This time round, the price was ten times that of the clothes hangers, so the returns were way better.

In conclusion, just remember to keep your bills and receipts and take note of your expenditure. Check through your statements and receipts carefully to avoid fraudulent charges.

With increasing oil prices, you may wonder how companies help to monitor the prices and keep costs low. After all, companies need to keep a tight rein on expenses. With a fleet card to monitor the transportation costs, you can decide to limit the card to payments for fuels only instead of other items at a petrol station.

What Fleet Cards USA does is to explain the difference between fleet cards and gas cards. Gas cards are used to purchase fuel only, but fleet cards will help to track individual vehicles, drivers, type of fuel, and other minute details which will allow the company to make better decisions. This will also cut down on fraudulent purchases.

Since the company has a wide variety of services, different companies can choose different types of reporting and packages. Some are free, while some are fee-based. This will ensure companies to maximise their profits by selecting the best options.

There is a list of four of the top fleet cards in the US. Before applying for the fuel cards, check out the savings listed and find one that is suitable for the company. It also depends on the petrol company that the company has been using. These fleet cards are given by credit card merchants such as Mastercard.

I forgot to bring my handphone to work one day, and when I returned, I was bombarded with calls from one number. The next day when the same person called me, it turned out to be a bank offering me new credit cards from another bank. I already have more than 20 credit cards, though I cut up two recently because of the annual fees which the bank refused to waive. However, I was too busy to meet the courier that night, so I rejected them.

I think a better way to apply for credit cards could be through the Internet. Instead of doing that at every bank, a consolidated list of credit cards from different banks at just one website will solve the problems of selection. One US website offers that. At one glance, you can see which cards are better and more useful. At the same time, there are even credit cards for bad credit. By reporting to different credit bureaus, these people will slowly be able to improve their credit when they make regular payments.

It turns out that apart from Singapore, South Korea has a lot of credit cards for a wide range of goods. Many of the consumers hold a lot of credit cards for car or food purchases. Hence, many have numerous cards.

Although many people testify for the financial convenience you get when you apply for a credit card, it doesn’t mean that every financing convenience applies for you or for everybody in that matter.

When people apply for a credit card, there is always a reason. It can be for managing their finances, needing extra money or in preparation to a big expenditure. But, no matter what the reason is, people apply for a credit card because of the ultimate convenience it brings.

There are undeniably endless lists of pros and cons when you apply for a credit card, but if you really have decided to apply for a credit card, these are some of the helpful tips that can guide you on your credit card shopping journey.

Actually, there are three easy steps you should follow if you have decided to apply for a credit card. First, surf the net and do some research on credit cards. By doing this, you can familiarize yourself with different credit card terms and types. Second, you can compare numerous credit cards that would best serve your needs and lastly, you may now apply for the credit card of your choice by filling out a credit card application by visiting a bank representative or through online.

In order to find the right credit card fast and easy, first, before you apply for a credit card, make sure you mastered the credit card terms. When you apply for a credit card you must know what a “credit card” really is. Being a form of borrowing that involves charges, credit cards usually have underlying credit terms and conditions affect your overall cost. So, it’s best to compare terms and fees before you apply for a credit card and agree to open an account. Some of the important terms to be understood well include the annual percentage rate or the APR.

When you apply for a credit card, you must know how the APR affects your credit account. Being a measure of the cost of credit expressed as a yearly rate, the APR should be disclosed before you apply for a credit card so that you would not be obligated on the account and on your account statements later on. Aside from APR, the periodic rate must be disclosed to the card holder before they completely apply for a credit card so they would have an idea of their outstanding balance and finance charge for each billing period. Other important terms to know before you apply for a credit card are free period or “grace period,” annual fees, transaction fees and other charges, other costs and feature, and balance computation method for the finance charge like average daily balance, adjusted balance, previous balance, and two-cycle balances. If you’re not that type of person who is patient enough to research on all these terms, make sure that before you apply for a credit card, the issuer will give an explanation how the balance is computed and it must appear on your monthly billing statements.

credit card billing annual fee transaction fee

American Express held a Live Platinum Urban Favours party for their Platinum members, and I was invited to it in my capacity as a blogger. It was held on Friday night at The Canary at Clarke Quay. I had not been to Clarke Quay for a long time, so it took me some time to find the place.

I met up with Brian, who is in the PR team for the event, and he gave me the invites. At first, we sat by the side, then later the guy in charge of the place moved us to a new table, which was set up right in front of the runway.

Jean Danker was the emcee, and the programme soon started.

First, a countertenor, Benjamin Wong, sang in monosyllabic sounds and in falsetto. I’m surprised that they included him at such a party. That gives hope to an amateur soprano like me who wishes to have an opportunity to go mainstream. I guessed the theme for the night was this, because the other artistes repeated their lines over and over again, which was quite interesting to unwind to on a Friday night after a long week of work.

Addy, a rock star, sang something about Ruby Ruby Ruby, and I thought that was a great song. He’s great at playing the electric guitar.

Jeassea Thyidor used to be in Singapore Idol, and is a professional singer looked resplendent in her silver dress. She has a powerful voice in the low range.

A group of guys painted in silver beat their ways, though I’m not that keen on such percussion performances.

Some deejays spun records, and one managed to get the Indian crowd dancing with a blend of Indipop and Bhangra music. I liked Chris Ho’s deejaying.

Meanwhile, models were strutting their stuff on the runway, and some of them were really tall.

While admiring their slim bodies, I was busy eating some great finger food served by waiters who went around all the tables. That certainly won’t help with my exercise plans. Drinks were available as well, though I only had two glasses. They ran out of glasses rather quickly.

I’m not sure whether three girls were hired as dancers, but they worked the dance floor after the models were gone. Some people danced with them, but most of the people remained in the comfortable white leather/ PVC bean bags. A group of Heineken ladies went around taking Polaroid photos.

One lady came to talk to me about the Platinum Card. I noticed that this card is targeted at the younger professional crowd with money to spend on luxuries. I liked one of the benefits, which was free membership for a year at a gym, if you sign up with a friend, but since I already have my own gym to go to, it would not be that useful to me. Higher membership points were available at certain places, but I’ve more or less retired from the nightlife scene. However, for those who like to chill out with a beer after work, this is one card you could consider. There was still something for me – dining offers. On top of that, there is a chance to win a Porsche with every $50 spent on the card. Not bad. But the pragmatic me will probably just take photos with the car, should I win it, and then sell it and pay off my housing loan.

The group sitting behind us were some minor celebrities, though I couldn’t really recognise them. They came in rather late, around midnight.

Robin Leong, who used to be a Channel 5 actor, is going to produce an international action movie, starring Jason Scott Lee, Fann Wong, some Korean superstar, and I think himself as well. Now, I probably sounded like a groupie, but I was a little excited about seeing Robin Leong. What happened next was totally unrehearsed and surprising. Brian, the one who extended the invitation to me, simply walked up to him and his group, and took a photo of him. I was thinking, shucks, I should have followed him. And then, to my surprise, I noticed Robin Leong and him walking towards my way and the actor-producer talked to me about my blog. He didn’t have a blog. My camera battery was towards its end then, so I’m still waiting for the photos from Brian. Anyway, it was a great end to my night out chilling to cool music. After that, I was a little sleepy and left.

One of the first gold card I had many years back was from Citibank, and it was a business card. I never really had a need for it, and I did not know what the difference was. It turned out that business credit cards had some uses.

Among the so many varieties of credit cards, one of the most underestimated is the value of a business credit card. Many people do not choose to apply for a business credit card because aside from having a definite target market— the business owners or business executives—it seems to be complicated to use. Although a business credit card has more requirements and has higher interests compared to other types of credit cards there is, contrary to the common conception, it can be very helpful if used properly.

What is a business credit card?
Basically, business credit card is for the business people’s consumption. Compared to the regular credit card, a business credit card has a high limit plus low interest rates. Depending on the manner of choosing, a business credit card may also bring a lot of automatic benefits.

Since it is targeted towards businessmen or those people who are heading towards building a business, a business credit card can definitely benefit these small businesses. A business credit card helps the budding business by extending payments while improving the cash flow. Aside from bearing the image of a dependable credit card, business credit card boasts of having detailed reports and giving quality customer service as its major trademarks.

Aside from having limits and low interest rates, a business credit card provides many alternatives and numerous credit options for small businesses. A business credit card also caters to large corporations that are crafted to aid those people who are starting with their own business to grow while closely monitoring the baseline of credit.

Business Credit Card is definitely worth consideration if you have your own business.

I’ve just received my credit card bill yesterday and realised to my surprise that the bulk of my points were expiring that night! Thank goodness I checked my mail and opened it immediately, even though I was home late. If my points had expired without me knowing, I would be very upset, but I heard that you could just call the bank up and ask for an extension.

There are many vouchers available in the redemption rewards catalogue for DBS. Immediately I set up a spreadsheet to determine which vouchers had the best deals, according to the value and the number of points required.

A few shopping vouchers were good. According to my statement, I would miss getting an extra voucher from the same departmental store by less than 100 points. Hence, I had to look for an alternative. However, when I called, I had 100 more points than required. I must have spent a lot of money within a few days. I just checked and I had spent close to $500 on dresses two days ago. Shhh, don’t tell others.

Some food vouchers were quite worth it, but since I seldom eat at restaurants, I didn’t really want them. By getting vouchers of the same type, you can buy more expensive things. Some movie tickets were value for money, but that meant that I couldn’t book tickets through Internet.

Another store vouchers were value for money, but my father had just changed his points for them, and he’s giving them to me, so I’ll buy shoes when I need them. The only problem is he must be there to sign the bill. I’d better check the rules again.

Have you checked your points yet? I think I’ve never redeemed my points for my credit cards from other banks. That’s because I use cards mainly from one bank, and they can be counted together.
