Finding, Forgetting and Losing Money

My husband forgot to bring his wallet today, so he sheepishly borrowed money from me. The idea of not having any money with me is unbearable. My mother has always taught me to keep extra money somewhere, just in case I run out of money or there is an emergency need for it.

When my wallet was stolen on a bus when I was fifteen, I got so mad that I kept searching for it. I kept staring at the woman beside me until she quickly got down the bus, as I suspected she took my wallet. I was upset not because I wouldn’t have any money to go home, but because my IC was in it and I had already lost it once or twice.

A nice passenger offered to give me some money so that I could go home. Actually, I had some money stashed up in my organiser because I was somehow collecting money from my classmates for something. I don’t remember being a class treasurer, so this part of my memory might be faulty. But whatever it was, I did not have to worry about money. I didn’t know what happened, but in the end, I found my wallet in my mailbox, without any money.

Sometimes, finding money in unexpected sources make me happy. I had totally forgotten about where I had put them. Anyway, before you can maximise profits, you have to protect your capital first.

  1. I love finding money inside the pockets of old pants :D Makes my day.

  2. Hi Dinu, hopefully the money is still in good condition!

Finding money is really exciting. Maybe that’s why some old folks like to keep their money in biscuit tins, coz when they count the money they have, they get very excited.

  3. During my Uni time, a classmate was always the last one to leave the place we sat, be it the canteen, lecture hall or fastfood outlets. When an event ended, the group of us all walked away happily, chatting away as we went. She will be the last one to join us. After a few occasions, I then noticed she actually take a good look at the place we just vacated. She was inspecting to make sure that nothing is left behind. She did find something we carelessly left behind and saved us from the trouble to recovering it later. I thought this is quite a good habit to pick up.
