Wealthy Women Series I Part 4: How To Avoid Buying A House With Bad Qi

One of the things to avoid in house-hunting is to avoid buying a house where there was a death, especially when violent death or unnatural death had occurred. Zhang Chunchun, the property magnate, nearly bought one such potential house from the auction.

Auctions usually allow buyers to bid for houses, and sometimes it could be due to bank sale. That means that the owners had failed to pay the mortgage, and the bank had to force sell the house in order to recover the money. While some superstitious people avoid such houses because they think that bad fengshui would lead to the owners facing financial crisis, sometimes there is simply good money to be made.

Zhang Chunchun went to such an auction, and wanted to take a look at the house before making her purchase. However, the bank refused to let buyers visit the house, and the owner refused to do so too. Undeterred, she went there to check out the place. Expectedly, the security guard chased her away.

Despite this, she refused to give up, so she kept waiting outside. As time went, she got hungry, and decided to call for pizza. Just then, she had a bright idea to sneak in. When the pizza delivery boy came, she told him that she had ordered for her friend and she wanted to give him a surprise. The pizza delivery boy was puzzled, but went along with her wishes. Fortunately for her, the security guard went away, so she managed to sneak in.

Hence, Zhang went up to the house, and pressed the doorbell. The owner, very harried looking and despondent, opened the door. To her horror, the whole house was empty, probably the equipment and other furniture had been taken away for forced sale, and there was this huge gas canister in the middle of the living room.

She told the owner why she was there, and she just wanted to take a look. As she was a mini celebrity in Taiwan, the owner recognised her, so was willing to let her in. With the pizza in hand, she talked to the guy, and both sat on the floor and ate the pizza.

He told her that he had been a guarantor for a friend, and the business failed. Hence, he had to sell his house, which was his pride and joy. He was totally unwilling to do so, and he said the day the house was sold, he would blow up the house with his family there, and would thus commit suicide.

She tried her best to dissuade him, and told him that there would always be other opportunities to come back strong again. However, she totally struck this house off her list as she did not want any further trouble.

Read about the great lengths Zhang Chunchun went through to help her brother who was a total novice to earn money from property in the next instalment. It would be published tomorrow at 8pm.

In the meantime, you may want to check out the previous instalments for Wealthy Women Series 1, on Zhang Chunchun’s background, how she started her property hunt and how to avoid being cheated when it comes to buying property.
