I won’t call PayPal and Buybuttonz as merchant accounts. They are just payment gateway. Merchant accounts mean that you have ability to process all the transition on your own gateway whether it’s online or offline.
For local, ENETS maybe the best options available (NETS virtual merchant account is affordable plus you can accept e-NETS and credit cards).
If you do not mind waiting, PayPayl, 2Checkout and Google Checkout are the best, in terms of features such as subscription, shopping carts, protection (all 3 have some sort of fraud protection and insurance) and so on.
